5 spice chicken with vegetable stir-fry

  • 680grams chicken breast strips
  • 1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • 1 yellow capsicum
  • 1 large carrot
  • 1 head of broccoli
  • 4 tsp olive oil divided
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger minced
  • If you would like you can just buy a bag of frozen stir fry veggies
  1. Prepare chicken, add chicken five-spice and salt in a bowl. Using a spoon combine to coat chicken
  2. Prepare veggies, cut veggies into strips and cut the top of the broccoli head in to little florets or use a bag of stir fry veggies
  3. Prepare sauce. In a bowl whisk remain ingredients. Except olive oil
  4. Once everything is ready, heat two tsp of olive oil in a large pan on high heat, once oil is hot add chicken, and cook for 5-6 minutes or until chicken is cooked. Remove from pan.
  5. Add 2 tsp oil to pan add veggies and stir for about 2 minutes to soften and crispy
  6. Once veggies are cooked add chicken back into pan and sauce cook for 1 minute while stirring
  7. Serve immediately with rice of your choice i prefer brown rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds
